Job summary

CMHA-WECB in Windsor-Essex County provides temporary full-time mental health and addiction support services to residents of the Windsor-Essex County area. The worker will support individuals with serious mental illness and addictions, focusing on recovery and community integration.

The role involves client orientation, needs assessment, goal planning, and coordination with community resources; it also includes crisis intervention, safety planning, and advocacy to improve services for clients.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) or Nursing (BScN) preferred, or a 3-year university degree in a relevant field.
• Two years recent mental health clinical work with vulnerable individuals with addictions.
• Knowledge of mental illness, addiction, and case management principles; assess and plan client needs.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Windows applications is required.
• Bilingualism in English and French is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support coordination to clients with serious mental health and addictions issues.
• Identify client needs and risks; develop holistic recovery goal plans.
• Refer clients to community programs and services.
• Support reintegration into school, work and social activities.
• Develop relapse prevention and wellness plans; provide crisis intervention as needed.
