Job summary

Golden Life is seeking a dynamic Community Manager in Courtenay, BC to oversee daily operations of an independent living, hospice, and long-term care senior living community. You will lead staff, ensure exceptional hospitality and care, manage budgets, licensing, and quality standards while driving engagement with residents, families, and the local community.

Qualifications

• 5 years of recent and related leadership experience in management, hospitality, senior living, or health care.
• Education: post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Hospitality, Health Care Management, or related field.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with all stakeholders and balance operational demands and budgets.
• Passion for resident-focused service and service excellence.
• Knowledge of BC community care licensing requirements and long-term care standards is an asset.
• Multitasking ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.

As a Community Manager, you will oversee the daily operations of our senior living community in beautiful Courtenay, BC, providing exceptional housing, hospitality, and care services for residents in independent living, hospice, and long-term care. This role is perfect for a driven individual who has exceptional organizational skills and is passionate about service, leadership, and creating a welcoming environment.

What You’ll Do

• Lead & Inspire: Supervise and support staff, ensuring a seamless and high-quality service experience throughout all departments in the village.
• Enhance Resident Experience: Oversee housing, dining, recreation, and care services to create a thriving community across independent living, hospice, and long-term care.
• Operational Excellence: Manage budgets, compliance, and maintain licensing and quality standards while driving continuous quality improvement.
• Community Engagement: Foster relationships with residents, families, staff, and the local community to build partnerships and enhance village life.
• Marketing & Growth: Work with the corporate team to maintain high occupancy rates and promote our community.

What You Bring

• Education : A post-secondary degree or diploma in Business Administration, Hospitality, Health Care Management, or a related field. Individuals that also possess a clinical background in senior’s care would be extremely beneficial and highly sought after. Equivalent experience and a combination of qualifications may be considered for interview.
• Experience : 5 years of recent and related leadership experience in management, hospitality, senior living, or health care.
• Skills : Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage with all stakeholders while being able to balance the operational demands and financial budgets of the village are a must
• Passion for Service : A commitment to providing exceptional, resident-focused service.
• Knowledge : Knowledge of BC community care licensing requirements, long-term care standards, and seniors' care is an asset. Experience in occupational health and safety, WorkSafeBC requirements, and emergency preparedness and response would also be welcomed.
• Multitasking Ability : Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards.

• A clear Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check (CRC).
• TB screening, and up-to-date immunization records.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
