Job summary

Child Development Resource Connection Peel (CDRCP) is seeking a Community Information Resource Specialist. The role reports to the Supervisor, InfoPeel and ServicePathways and is a Full Time Permanent position offering a hybrid work model.

Annual salary ranges from $50,000 to $55,000, with 35 hours per week. The Specialist will support families and youth with special needs and provide information related to early years, childcare and respite services, while building community partnerships and

Qualifications

  • 3 years of related work experience in two or more areas including preschool, school age, licensed home child care or early years services.
  • Registered Early Childhood Educator is a requirement.
  • Minimum diploma or degree in social services, human services, child and youth, social work, psychology or related field; college registration is an asset.
  • Minimum 3 years experience in related community programs.
  • Be versed in Information and Referral Services (I&R) and AIRS standards (an asset).
  • Be fluent in French or a second language (an asset).

Responsibilities

  • Supporting families and youth with special needs in setting and reaching individual goals.
  • Completing intakes to various community programs to ensure families are supported properly.
  • Transferring files through a centralized database to partner agencies.
  • Working with databases that promote information and resources to families and the community.
  • Providing the community with information or resources to meet their needs.
  • Maintaining positive relationships with partner agencies.
  • Planning, organizing and facilitating workshops and community outreach opportunities.
  • Creating and implementing new innovative projects that support community partnerships.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

Position: Community Information ResourceSpecialist

Reports To: Supervisor, InfoPeel and ServicePathways

Job type: Full Time Permanent

Work Hours: 35 hours/week (Monday- Fridayoccasional evenings and weekends, hybrid work model)

Salary: $50,000 to $55,000 annually

As part of the InfoPeel team, the Specialist will supportclients requiring assistance or information related to early years, childcare,children and youth with special needs and respite supports.

WHAT THIS POSITION HAS TO OFFER:

  • participatingin ongoing professional development and education through workshops andinformation sessions
  • workingtowards and obtaining CIRS certification

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

The successful candidate will:

  • 3 years of related work experience in two or moreareas including preschool, school age, licensed home child care and/orearly years services is an asset
  • Registered EarlyChildhood Educator is a requirement
  • Have a minimum of a diploma or degree in socialservices, human services, child and youth, social work, psychology orrelated field. Registration with the applicable college considered anasset
  • Minimum 3 years experience in related community andprograms
  • be strongly versed on special needs and developmentalservices within the Peel Region
  • be capable of working with a variety of databasesi.e. client and information based
  • be a visionary thinker and demonstrate innovativepractices
  • possess knowledge of Information and ReferralServices (I&R) and AIRS Standards (an asset)
  • be committed to successful completion of CIRSCertification Exam within 2 years of employment
  • be efficient at utilizing social media tools
  • have the ability to facilitate workshops andpresentations
  • be knowledgeable and experienced working with personswith special needs
  • have a strong IT skill set and the ability to keep upto date and effectively meet current technology needs
  • produce a valid vulnerable sector check
  • possess a valid Driver’s License, a safe drivingrecord and access to independent transportation
  • be fluent in French or a second language (an asset)
  • be professional and positive
  • demonstrate strong judgement
  • be reliable and flexible.
