Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of experience in community social services or healthcare.
  • Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates.

Job description

About The Role

As a Community Inclusion Worker, you will assist individuals seeking support to participate in personal, social, vocational, and volunteer opportunities within the community. The services are tailored to the person's specific goals and preferences. You will encourage independence and self-determination, helping individuals live the lives they envision while maintaining high standards of care, health, and safety. Your caring nature and collaborative approach will enable you to positively influence your clients' success.

Core Responsibilities
  • Respect and advocate for the supported person's rights and choices.
  • Interact effectively with the individuals supported.
  • Empower individuals to be active members of their community.
  • Coordinate and facilitate participation in community-based social, vocational, and volunteer activities.
  • Build positive relationships with family members, professionals, co-workers, and community members.
  • Support families in maintaining a safe and functional home environment, including basic household management.
  • Assist in developing, implementing, and documenting the Individual Service Plan.
  • Record daily activities and personal health information (PHI) in the case management database.
  • Apply behavior management principles and strategies, including understanding mental health needs.
You will have
  • Grade 12 education.
  • Community Support Worker Diploma or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in community social services or healthcare.
  • Current Emergency First Aid/CPR and Food Safe certificates.
  • Training in behavior management.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Non-verbal communication skills.
  • Valid BC Driver’s License with a satisfactory driving record and reliable vehicle with $2,000,000 third-party liability insurance.
  • Criminal record clearance for working with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Moderate computer literacy.
  • Eligibility to work in Canada.
