Overview

The Markham Stouffville Hospital Foundation seeks a Community Engagement Associate to manage key components of the Foundation’s community fundraising initiatives, support the database and online platforms, and provide support to the Manager, Community Giving and Donor Engagement team.

Responsibilities

• Donor Care (40%) Meet high service standards, handle donor inquiries, manage donor records in Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge, and conduct thank you calls.
• Community Engagement & Outreach Support (40%) Assist strategic development and execution of in‑hospital and community‑wide fundraising initiatives, maintain the online giving strategy, create donation pages and communications, manage vendor relationships, and track financial results.
• Foundation Wide Support (20%) Provide administrative assistance to the Community Giving and Donor Engagement team, coordinate meetings, handle invoicing, and represent the Foundation at community events.

Qualifications

• University degree or college diploma; 1–2 years of fundraising, marketing, communications, or customer service experience.
• Knowledge of annual giving, direct marketing, and relationship databases such as Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge NXT or Luminate is an asset.
• Strong communication, presentation, critical‑thinking, and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft365 (Outlook, Word, Excel, Co‑pilot) and ability to learn new technology quickly.
• HTML and graphic‑design experience is an asset.
• Valid G driver’s licence, access to a car, and capability to lift moderate weights.

Schedule & Compensation

Monday‑Friday, 7.5‑hour shifts (schedules may change). Compensation: $29.29 – $31.73 per hour, plus 6% vacation and 13% benefits in lieu.
