Job summary

Covenant House Toronto is hiring three Youth Reconnect Workers to support at-risk youth in staying engaged in school and securing stable housing. Based in Toronto, these on-site roles involve direct community-based support, collaboration with schools and agencies, and flexible evening hours.

You will assess needs with youth, set goals, link to services, maintain files, and participate in program development.

Qualifications

BSW or Child and Youth Work Diploma required; two years’ experience with youth at-risk of homelessness.
Trauma-informed, anti-oppression approach is essential.
Strong communication and ability to work independently and with teams.

Responsibilities

Connect with youth referred by schools and agencies.
Provide services in locations convenient to youth and supports.
Assess needs with youth and set actionable goals for school engagement and housing stability.
Directly support youth to maintain housing and school engagement.
Engage family and supports as resources to achieve goals.
Link youth to financial support, housing, mental health, and other services.
Help youth develop a social safety net for the future.
Facilitate group activities, workshops, and presentations as required.
Collaborate with partners to develop and promote the program.
Maintain documentation and client files, notes, and assessments.
