Job Description:

  • Manage Food programs such as Food Bank and Food Share.
  • Supervise Community & Family Services volunteers.
  • Organize and oversee Christmas services including kettles, hampers, Toy Shoppe, and fundraising campaigns.
  • Support Emergency Disaster Response efforts and provide training for volunteers and staff.
  • Secure media coverage and interviews for Community & Family Services programs.
  • Contribute to the development of standards, policies, and procedures related to this role.
  • Uphold the mission of The Salvation Army and the Community & Family Services goals.

Payroll, Funding, and Reporting:

  • Identify and apply for new funding sources aligned with Salvation Army standards.
  • Coordinate with community agencies for grants and funding requests.
  • Manage payroll information and maintain policies and procedures for Community & Family Services.

Relationship Management:

Governance: Ministry Unit Management Board, Church Board.

Internal: Staff and volunteers.

External: Community agencies, stores, donors, clients, and the public.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Community Ministries Director.
  • Oversee volunteers within the department.

Financial and Material Management:

  • Oversee purchase, maintenance, and safety of materials and equipment.
  • Authorize small program purchases.
  • Assist with annual budget and revenue projections.

Working Conditions:

  • Work in office, food room, church, and community settings.
  • Travel and on-call duties during the absence of the Corps Officer.
  • Interact with clients, including handling difficult situations.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Standard work hours: Monday to Friday, with specific times listed.

Pre-employment Requirements:

  • Criminal Record Check, Driver’s Abstract, Vulnerable Sector Screen, and Abuse Training.
  • Alignment with Salvation Army’s mission and values.

Qualifications:

  • At least two years of post-secondary education in a relevant field.
  • Minimum of three years of relevant experience.
  • Computer skills (Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Experience in fiscal and staff management is an asset.

Compensation:
