Job summary

ASK Wellness Society seeks a Communications Specialist to join our Kamloops team and support internal and external communications that align with our mission and strategic priorities.

You will coordinate media releases, monitor coverage, produce print and digital assets, and ensure consistent branding across channels. This role works closely with the Director of Communications and Quality Improvement and supports organization-wide communications initiatives.

Qualifications

• Post-secondary diploma, certificate, or degree in communications, public relations, marketing, or a related field.
• Experience in communications, social media management, public relations, marketing, or a related field is an asset.
• Experience drafting professional communications, including media releases and newsletters.
• Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle for business use.

Responsibilities

• Draft media releases, advisories, backgrounders, key messages, and other public relations materials for review and approval.
• Assist with responding to media inquiries and coordinating information and interviews with Society representatives as directed.
• Monitor social media sites and local media coverage relevant to the Society and its areas of service and bring opportunities or issues to the Director.
• Develop print and digital communications assets, including posters, brochures, trifolds, and fact sheets.
• Collaborate with the Director to develop engaging content for social media platforms, including videos and posts.
• Plan, coordinate, and execute Society events with cross-departmental collaboration.
