Job description

The role of the Communications department is to develop and lead strategic communications through storytelling, earned media, and influencer relations as well as marketing content creation to reach and engage new consumers more frequently. The Communications Manager will be tasked with leading strategy and execution for communications throughout regions of Canada with a focus on Quebec. They will be responsible for effectively positioning and delivering communication messages across various third-party and owned media channels (social media, web, TV, radio, and print) to bring our brand to life and establish Red Bull as relevant to our target audiences.

The Senior Manager of Communications will act as lead on collaborating with cross-functional teams within our media network to lead projects and activate Paid, Earned, Managed & Owned (PEMO) plans within sports, culture, brand initiatives, content development, and beverage product innovations. They will take full responsibility for earned media activation through relationship building with traditional third-party entities and amplifying social media publishers.

All the responsibilities we'll trust you with:

DEVELOP AND EXECUTE RED BULL’S EARNED MEDIA COMMUNICATION CAMPAIGNS

Ensure the regional communication plans utilize the most effective and efficient media strategies to generate earned media coverage—traditional and social—reaching new consumers daily across the portfolios you oversee. Build strong and trusting relationships with Quebec mainstream and endemic media as it pertains to sport, culture, and story driven content. Ensure Regional Communications plans use the most efficient tactics to promote media coverage and engage creators while also using Red Bull's managed and owned platforms. Create 'breakthrough' buzzworthy media moments and activations to promote coverage of Red Bull essential messaging. Collaborate with sports and culture teams to ensure integration of product in content and activations and drive product-forward communications opportunities leveraging athletes and artists as spokespeople. Maintain a comprehensive calendar of Red Bull national and regional programs. Measure outcome using analytic tools and report results to all contributors. Brief athletes, photographers and production companies on brand approach and product integration for all content creation.

FRENCH CREATOR PROGRAM

In collaboration with the Creator Marketing team, help identify and develop relationships with French speaking Creators whose organic reach can add value to the business across a variety of key playgrounds, to support us in building brand and product trust. Develop, maintain and foster a strong network of local relationships with creators to further depth and relevance to Creator program. Work cross functionally to develop creator strategies across projects that help to achieve Red Bull Canada business objectives and brand reach. Work with Product Expert to overcome product barriers and ensure Creators are true product ambassadors, be confident to walk away where not. Ensure a wide variety and diversity of Creators are in our networks and managed according to our brand values, ensure we have reach into all key business playgrounds and occasions and show versatility, as well as reflect the diversity of Red Bull’s current and aspirational audience/consumer base in Canada. Ensure reach of the program is to our key business focuses, primarily to grow organic earned reach among Entry Point Consumers and deliver improvements in product understanding and trust.

Your areas of knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

  • Fluent in French and English
  • Minimum 5 years communications and/or public relations experience; with particular background in sports, culture and/or CPG brands.
  • Experience working with Social Media Influencers/Creators or other high profile talent, ideally within the Entertainment, Sport or Media industries.
  • Particular experience and expertise of Quebec media and French speaking influencers.
  • A proven track record in leading projects, securing brand reach and engagement via earned media amplification .
  • An entrepreneurial ‘can-do’ attitude facilitated by continuous learning & application of ‘best practices’.
  • Creative thinker and innovator.
  • Self-starter, able to work independently with confidence.
  • Is a passionate story seeker that identifies those stories that have true media potential and pull through to our target audience.
  • Exceptional written and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated success in working with multiple departments and global stakeholders.
  • Equipped to build media relations with national and local media outlets.
  • An agile, team player that knows how to get the work done.
  • Proficiency Microsoft suite of tools; PowerPoint, Teams, Word, Excel.
