A leading non-profit organization in Canada is seeking a Communications Coordinator to enhance public engagement and support communications initiatives. The role involves bilingual content creation, social media management, and collaboration with remote teams. The National Autism Network (the “Network”) is a new independent not-for-profit corporation coordinating a community-led initiative that centres Autistic individuals and their families. The Network brings together people with lived and living experiences, subject matter experts, and interest holders to inform and support the implementation of Canada’s Autism Strategy.
Position Summary
The Communications Coordinator supports the development and execution of routine communications and contributes to public engagement efforts of the Network. This role includes bilingual content creation, social media management, design, analytics, and communications support for activities and events.
Work Context
In this role, you should expect:
·A remote-first workplace, where remote work is the default mode of operation for all employees. Communication and collaboration are by video conferencing, instant messaging, document sharing and cloud-based work tools through Microsoft 365.
·A flexible work arrangement with agreed-upon work hours five days per week (Monday to Friday), for a total of 37.5 hours each week, scheduled between the hours of 8am and 8pm in your local time zone.
·Some evenings and weekends may be required to attend network engagement activities and other related opportunities.
·Teamwork and collaboration with other remote employees.
·Standing one-on-one check-in meetings with your supervisor.

To be effective in this role, you must have the following skills and competencies:
·Digital Literacy – The ability to understand and use digital devices and tools to obtain, exchange, create or process digital information in a secure manner.
·Planning and Organizing – The ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize and organize tasks to get the work done in a timely fashion.
·Communication – The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented orally and to convey information and ideas effectively to others.
·Writing – The ability to communicate in writing using written words, sentences, paragraphs, symbols, and images and adapting the style for the needs of the audience.

Qualifications and Experience
Required:
·Bilingualism (English and French) with strong written and verbal skills in both languages
·Post secondary diploma in communications, marketing, digital content creation, or a related discipline.
·At least two years work experience, with demonstrated ability to write for different platforms (email, websites, social media) and attention to accessibility and user experience.
·Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Excel)
·Experience with Adobe Creative Suite (Acrobat Pro, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and Premiere Pro).
Considered an asset:
·Proficiency in graphic design and web content management
·Personal lived experience with autism and neurodiversity
Key Responsibilities
The person in this role will perform the following duties:
Content Creation & Design
·Develop and post bilingual social media content and graphics across platforms (Facebook, Instagram, X, LinkedIn).
·Lead curation and distribution of monthly newsletter.
·Coordinate development, layout, and publishing of reports, toolkits, and public-facing materials and content.
·Keep communication guidelines and templates current and accessible.
Brand & Web Presence
·Maintain websites and social media pages for the National Autism Network.
·Monitor brand consistency and catalog all communications materials.
·Support translation and adaptation of content to ensure accessibility and inclusion.
·Maintain communications databases, including stakeholder, media, and partner lists.
·Assist in preparing press releases and media outreach materials.
·Support public communications initiatives.
Event Communications
·Lead promotional and marketing communications for events.
·Coordinate digital assets, IT support, and post-event follow-up communications.
Campaign Coordination
·Assist in developing communication and social media strategies aligned with organizational goals.
Analytics & Reporting
·Monitor campaign performance and compile regular reports on communications metrics.
·Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to guide continuous improvement.
·Generate quarterly reports related to media engagement and online performance.
Inclusive Communications
·Ensure accessibility and inclusive design principles are applied to all public-facing content.
·Test digital learning tools and platforms for accessibility as needed.
·Liaise with key interest holders (stakeholders) to ensure communications standards are upheld.
·Familiarity with inclusive language and accessibility standards.
