Job summary

Servus Credit Union is seeking a Communications Coordinator to support the Communications Department with internal and external tactics, writing content for print, digital and video channels, and coordinating events.

The role requires 2–4 years of communications experience, a degree or diploma in communications, strong writing skills, and willingness to travel within Alberta, with occasional evenings or weekends as needed.

Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in communications, public relations or a related field.
  • 2–4 years of communications experience.
  • Strong writing skills are preferred.
  • IABC or CPRS membership is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work occasional evenings or weekends as required.
  • Ability to travel within Alberta.
  • Ability to attend the Edmonton or Calgary office occasionally.
  • Must successfully pass a criminal background check, reference check and credit check to qualify for hire.

Responsibilities

  • Support communications programs and projects across the Communications Department.
  • Develop and implement internal and external communications tactics.
  • Write content for print, digital and video communications channels.
  • Provide administrative and logistical support for team initiatives.
  • Support the Head of Communications and Communications Leadership Team.
  • Provide backup support for publishing across all channels.
  • Assist with social media amplification initiatives for staff and members.
  • Identify and support management of reputational threats across social media platforms.
  • Support proactive and reactive media relations, including timely media responses and paid and earned media opportunities.
  • Collaborate with Strategic Communications Partners and Communications Leads on key portfolios and strategic initiatives.
  • Provide logistical support for town halls and internal/external events, including event coordination and booking.
  • Compile analytics and update monitoring and reporting across the Communications Division.
  • Perform other duties as required.
