Position Overview:

The City of Trail is recruiting for the position of Communications and Events Manager. This is an exempt position which forms part of the management team in the organization and is primarily responsible for all external and internal corporate communications, promotional initiatives and public relations that support communications, including social media applications and website maintenance. The Communications and Events Manager works collaboratively with all necessary Departments and community groups as part of coordinating civic events and activities that the City delivers directly or where the City is partnering or sponsoring a group or organization.

Qualifications:

Our ideal candidate is a strategic and creative communications professional with a degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field, complemented by at least five years of progressive experience in communications, marketing, public relations, or event management. You are an exceptional writer and communicator with a strong command of Canadian Press style, proven experience managing digital communications platforms and social media, and a talent for crafting compelling messaging that builds engagement and public trust.

Position Information:
  • Salary Range: $80,750 to $104,500
  • Hours: 37.5 / week – Monday to Friday with 1-hour for lunch
  • Status: Exempt - Permanent Full-Time;
  • Benefits:
