Job summary

Hallmark Global Solutions Ltd is seeking a Senior Telecom Commissioning Engineer for Canada. You will plan and coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning and startup activities, develop schedules, and liaise with third-party providers to ensure a smooth handover.

The role requires 5-8 years in telecom engineering, knowledge of railway telecom systems, and a degree in Electrical/ Electronics/ Computer Engineering or IT.

Qualifications

• 5-8 years of experience in Telecom engineering.
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems for the railway industry.
• Ontario P.Eng is desirable.
• 1-2 years of Railway System Engineering expertise.

Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and coordinate pre-commissioning/commissioning/start-up activities leading to project completion.
• Develop and ensure adherence to a detailed commissioning schedule and plan, covering all aspects of pre-commissioning and start-up phases through to handover.
• Prepare and/or update a comprehensive commissioning manual.
• Develop a reporting structure and accountabilities for the commissioning team.
• Plan and coordinate the commissioning/start up schedule and necessary work with third party providers.
• Develop pre-commissioning test procedures and documentation. Correct any deficiencies found.
• Ensure compliance and progress reports are produced in accordance with client and legislative requirements.
• Liaise with government agencies where required to obtain necessary approvals prior to start-up.
• Prepare client acceptance forms and ensure satisfactory sign-off is obtained. Develop comprehensive quality, environment and safety commissioning plans.
• A Senior Professional with advanced knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.
• Managing projects / processes, working independently with limited supervision.
• Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals. Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

Experience/ Educational Qualifications :

• 5 - 8 years of experience in Telecom engineering
• Knowledge of telecommunications systems for the railway industry
• Electrical, Electronic, or Computer Engineering or Information Technology Qualifications/ University Degree Ontario P.Eng is highly desirable
• 1 to 2 years of Railway System Engineering expertise
