What you will be doing
  • Provide support to patients and healthcare providers, including information on Patient Support services, specific diseases, and therapies based on manufacturer-provided materials and product monographs.
  • Work with patients and families to complete needs assessments related to medication access.
  • Act as a liaison between patients, families, healthcare providers, and payers regarding medication access.
  • Respond to general inquiry calls via telephone or web-based platforms about program services, disease states, or product questions, based on provided information.
  • Provide ongoing support on disease state or product-related questions to ensure patient adherence, as needed.
  • Refer patients to their healthcare providers for clinical questions or situations outside program materials or manufacturer monographs.
  • Manage and audit databases and files regularly.
  • Administer and follow case-management protocols, including data collection, patient follow-up, therapy monitoring, adverse event reporting, and liaising with healthcare providers.
  • Collaborate with reimbursement specialists and physicians to secure funding for therapies; assist in finding alternative funding when necessary.
  • Attend specialized training sessions for specific therapies as provided by the pharmaceutical team.
  • Participate in pharmaceutical meetings and patient education conferences as needed.
  • Engage with patient associations and advocacy groups as required.
  • Establish and maintain partnerships with the pharmaceutical team.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers, pharmacies, infusion clinics, and other agencies to manage infusions, drug delivery, and resolve issues.
  • Communicate clearly with managers, the team, and clients regarding patient case management.
  • Assist in training new Drug Access Navigators through shadowing and call monitoring.
  • Report adverse events following program SOPs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned and be on standby/on call as required.
What your background should look like
  • A Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or a related field.
  • Minimum of three (3) years, preferably over five (5) years, experience in healthcare, pharmaceutical, or insurance industries, or related fields.
  • Experience in healthcare and case management within medical/hospital practice, insurance, or bio-pharma industries is preferred.
  • Bilingual in French and English is strongly preferred.
