Job summary

Shiplake Properties is seeking a Commercial General Manager for Postmedia Place to oversee office and retail operations, tenant experience, and asset performance. You will lead a site team, manage budgets, and drive occupancy while safeguarding asset value.

The role requires 7+ years in property management, budgeting and vendor oversight, with experience in Yardi/MRI. A post-secondary education is an asset, and a valid driver's license is required.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of property management experience overseeing commercial assets.
• Experience with annual budgets, financial reporting, variance analysis and operating costs.
• Proficient in Yardi and MRI work order software; strong MS Office skills.
• Knowledge of local property standards, WHMIS, AODA, and Privacy Act.
• Strong communication and decision-making under tight deadlines.
• Post-secondary education is an asset; a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Maintain building standards, handle tenant inquiries, resolve issues, and enhance tenant experience.
• Oversee daily property functions, inspect grounds and vacant units, manage preventive maintenance.
• Prepare operating budgets, capex program, variance reports, and KPI metrics for occupancy/revenue.
• Monitor market rents/lease conditions, liaise with brokers to market the property.
• Direct and develop site staff across admin and building operations.
• Lead vendor tendering, supervise contracted work, ensure health and safety compliance.
