Qualifications

  • Strong financial acumen with budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and performance reporting.
  • Experience managing contracts, leases, capital assets, and vendor relationships.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and financial reporting systems.
  • Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, PMP, or equivalent is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the commercial and financial management of fleet and heavy equipment operations, including revenue, costs, utilization, depreciation, financing, and profitability.
  • Prepare forecasts, budgets, cash flow projections, business cases, and management reports to support decision-making.
  • Monitor equipment billing, cost recovery, vendor invoicing, leases, commitments, and compliance.
  • Maintain asset, contract, and lease records; support acquisition, redeployment, and disposal decisions.
  • Lead capital planning activities, including ROI, lifecycle costing, and CapEx approvals.
  • Partner with Operations, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and vendors to identify risks and improve performance.
  • Drive improvements in reporting, governance, forecasting accuracy, and overall commercial performance.

Commercial Manager, Fleet & Heavy Equipment We are seeking a Commercial Manager to lead the financial, commercial, and operational performance of our fleet and heavy equipment business. This role will partner closely with Operations, Finance, and senior leadership to provide accurate reporting, commercial oversight, asset management, and strategic decision support.

What You Will Be Working On

Lead the commercial and financial management of Eastrac's fleet and heavy equipment operations. Own divisional and equipment-level financial performance, including revenue, costs, utilization, depreciation, financing, and profitability. Prepare forecasts, budgets, cash flow projections, business cases, and management reports that support operational and strategic decision-making. Monitor equipment billing, cost recovery, vendor invoicing, leases, commitments, and commercial obligations to ensure accuracy and compliance. Maintain asset, contract, and lease records while supporting equipment acquisition, redeployment, replacement, and disposal decisions. Lead capital planning activities, including investment analysis, ROI assessments, lifecycle costing, and CapEx approvals. Partner with Operations, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and external vendors to identify risks, implement controls, and improve business performance. Drive continuous improvement in reporting, governance, forecasting accuracy, and overall commercial performance.

What We Are Looking For

Post-secondary education in Business, Commerce, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.

8+ years of experience in commercial management, finance, project controls, asset management, fleet operations, construction, industrial, mining, or infrastructure environments.

Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, cost control, and performance reporting.

Experience managing contracts, leases, capital assets, and vendor relationships.

Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial reporting systems.

Professional designation such as CPA, CFA, PMP, or equivalent is considered an asset.
