Job summary

EllisDon Corporation is seeking a Senior Commercial Manager, Facilities to lead contracts, risk, and claims across major infrastructure projects in Canada. You will guide complex commercial negotiations, manage budgets and variations, and collaborate with operations, legal, and finance teams to optimize performance.

The role requires a minimum 10 years in commercial management, deep understanding of contract frameworks, and experience with PPP-type service delivery.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business, Finance, Law, Construction Management, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in commercial management or related roles.
  • Experience with Operations and Maintenance services within P3/PPP projects or similar.
  • Strong knowledge of contract management principles and industry standard forms.
  • Proven ability to manage complex commercial risks, claims, and negotiations.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary commercial lead and point of contact for clients, partners, subcontractors, and stakeholders.
  • Interpret complex contracts and advise on compliance, entitlements, obligations, and risk.
  • Lead administration, negotiation, and management of contracts, subcontracts, changes, and variations.
  • Oversee claims management, including negotiation and resolution of claims and warranty matters.
  • Lead cost control, forecasting, financial monitoring, and commercial reporting.
  • Manage change management processes, ensuring proper documentation and valuation.
  • Support dispute resolution activities including negotiations and mediation as required.
  • Collaborate with operations, engineering, finance, procurement, legal, and executive teams.
  • Develop and manage service agreements and subcontractor relationships.
  • Assist leadership in evaluating project scenarios and communicating positions to clients.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of commercial processes and governance.
  • Prepare executive analyses and recommendations to support strategic decisions.
  • Monitor industry trends and PPP/performance-based service delivery practices.
  • Support business development, bid pursuits, and transition activities as needed.
