The Opportunity

Boughton Law is pleased to be expanding its Commercial Litigation Practice Group to meet business demands and to better serve our clients today, and into the future. You will work closely with a team of dedicated professionals committed to client service excellence and receive excellent mentorship. We’re currently searching for an Associate with three to five years of experience, as well as lawyers with five or more years of experience in commercial litigation to join this growing team and provide our clients with excellent legal service.

The Role

The Commercial Litigation Group has experience and expertise in all aspects of commercial law, including complex, multi-party litigation. We provide our clients with guidance through a wide variety of matters, such as commercial contract claims, construction disputes, real estate transactions, franchise disputes, commercial arbitrations, insurance litigation, environmental claims and intellectual property disputes. We represent clients before all levels of Canadian courts, including the Supreme and Federal Courts of Canada, provincial, superior and appellate courts and various administrative tribunals. We provide counsel to First Nations in BC, Alberta, the Yukon, and the Northwest Territories, and represent First Nations at all Court levels on aboriginal and treaty rights. The ideal candidates will be talented, detail-oriented, "hands-on", capable practitioners with a track-record of strong practice skills, solid judgement, entrepreneurial spirit, and excellent client and interpersonal skills.

The salary range for the role represents the Firm's reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. The starting salary is determined based on a number of factors, including the successful candidate’s knowledge, relevant experience, and internal equity.
