Job summary

Walmart Canada is seeking an experienced HVAC/R Technician to install, maintain, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems across multiple facilities. You will diagnose issues, perform preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with environmental and safety standards.

This hands-on role requires 3–5 years of HVAC/R experience, relevant certifications, and a valid driver’s license. Travel within the region is required, with opportunities to mentor apprentices and support operations.

Qualifications

• College diploma or completion of a two-year vocational or technical trade program.
• Three to five years of relevant HVAC/R work experience.
• HVAC/R trade certification.
• Valid 313A or G1 certification (as applicable).
• Valid ozone depletion prevention or ODS certification.
• Valid driver's licence and clean driving record.
• Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC, refrigeration, and controls.
• Ability to read drawings, layouts, and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systems across facilities.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and controls issues to minimize downtime.
• Configure and calibrate low-ambient systems and direct digital controls.
• Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections to improve reliability.
• Interpret technical drawings and schematics to support installation and repair.
• Manage refrigerants in compliance with environmental requirements.
• Ensure work aligns with applicable HVAC/R regulations and codes.
• Support apprentices and other technicians with knowledge sharing.
• Communicate clearly with customers and partners about issues and actions.
• Coordinate service calls, parts, warranties, and vendor support using digital tools.
• Travel to multiple facilities within the assigned region using a company vehicle.
