Job summary

TRS Staffing Solutions seeks a Field Service & Commissioning Technologist to support installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of industrial combustion systems and related equipment. The role offers extensive field exposure, hands-on work, and opportunities for technical growth.

The ideal candidate has an Engineering Technology Diploma (Instrumentation/Electrical) or trades certification, with willingness to obtain Class A Gasfitter certification and travel as required.

Qualifications

• Engineering Technology Diploma or relevant Trades Certification.
• Class A Gasfitter certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.
• Experience with burners, combustion controls, boiler systems, power generation, or industrial process equipment is an asset.
• Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, wiring schematics, and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical writing skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and in the field.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
• Ability to work in physically demanding industrial environments and participate in site-required Drug & Alcohol testing.

Responsibilities

• Commission, start up, and troubleshoot burners, boilers, heaters, and other fired equipment.
• Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers.
• Support project execution, commissioning plans, reports, and technical documentation.
• Assist with installation, testing, FAT, and mechanical assembly activities.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, controls, and combustion system issues.
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and project teams.
• Support maintenance and repair of valves, transmitters, analyzers, VFDs, and other process control equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with industry codes and standards.

Join our team as a Field Service & Commissioning Technologist, supporting the installation, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting of industrial combustion systems and related process equipment. This hands-on role offers extensive field exposure, customer interaction, and opportunities for technical growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Commission, start up, and troubleshoot burners, boilers, heaters, and other fired equipment.
• Provide onsite and remote technical support to customers.
• Support project execution, commissioning plans, reports, and technical documentation.
• Assist with installation, testing, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and mechanical assembly activities.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical, instrumentation, controls, and combustion system issues.
• Build strong relationships with customers, contractors, and project teams.
• Support maintenance and repair of valves, transmitters, analyzers, VFDs, and other process control equipment.
• Ensure all work is completed safely and in accordance with industry codes and standards.
