Job summary

Amazon is seeking a Mechanical Colo Regional Engineer to lead colocation data center design, assessment, and optimization. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams, vendors, and internal stakeholders to ensure reliable infrastructure and compliant operations across regional sites.

Responsibilities include site assessments, risk/availability analyses, and driving design standards for AWS colocation products. Travel up to 50% may be required to support international and domestic sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities such as data centers.
• Researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods for data center equipment.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct site assessments against AWS standards for collocation data centers and legacy facilities.
• Perform risk analysis and availability calculations for vendor-owned infrastructure.
• Influence design and specification requirements to meet business needs.
• Investigate root-cause failure analyses of infrastructure and equipment.
• Coordinate with vendors and local authorities to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Collaborate with engineering, operations, and commissioning teams to test and validate installations.
