Job summary

Ritchie Bros. in Vancouver area is seeking a Collections Account Manager to oversee outstanding balances across our platforms and provide timely and effective resolutions. You will manage early-stage collections for primarily commercial accounts and collaborate with customers to establish feasible payment plans.

You will analyze payment trends, identify process gaps, and support continuous improvement while maintaining professional communication and strong attention to detail.

Qualifications

• 5 years of collections experience in auto loans, commercial collections, and financial institutions portfolios.
• Self-motivated with initiative and flair for identifying process gaps or opportunities for improvement.
• Strong communication skills – listening to customers and understanding their situation.
• Excellent phone etiquette.
• Strong written communication through email, with good questioning and probing skills.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for early-stage collections on majority commercial and some consumer accounts.
• Prioritizes collections of accounts within team and tracks progress.
• Identifies process gaps and recommends improvements to tighten collections.
• Solves early defaults and collaborates with management on resolutions.
• Responsible for reducing the collapse rate of accounts.
• Tracks and reports on work queue results (Excel and qualitative feedback).
• Negotiates payment timelines, partial payments, and default-related fees with customers.
• Handles operational issues and supports the team as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

• Problem solves a solution for early defaults and collapses and presents to management
• Responsible for reducing the collapse rate
• Track and report (excel and qualitative feedback) on work queue results
• Controls the negotiation with customers on payment timelines, partial payments, default fees, etc
• Responsible for operational issues
• Performs other duties as assigned
