Job summary

RBC in Toronto is seeking a collateral management professional to assess, monitor and manage pledged collateral under ISDA Master and CSA agreements. You will mitigate counterparty credit risk by fulfilling margin requirements and act as a first line of defense ensuring accurate books and a seamless client experience.

The role focuses on variation and initial margin processes, daily collateral calls, reconciliation, and process improvements within a dynamic capital markets environment.

Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education (undergraduate) or equivalent in a relevant field.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble collateral information daily and call for collateral.
  • Ensure transfer of eligible credit support within CSA terms.
  • Manage collateral inventory to meet daily margin requirements.
  • Ensure collateral bookings are accurate per CSA terms.
  • Perform portfolio and collateral reconciliations with counterparties.
  • Escalate issues per standing orders and respond to inquiries.
  • Assist in onboarding counterparties and updating procedures.

Job Description
  • To assess, monitor and manage the collateral held and pledged by the Royal Bank of Canada in accordance with the ISDA Master and CSA Agreements
  • Mitigation of counterparty credit risk through the fulfillment of RBC’s variation and initial margin requirements
  • Act as a first line of defense to the trading business, ensuring accurate books and records are maintained while providing a seamless client experience
What will you do?
Variation and Initial Margin Requirements
  • Assemble collateral information daily, making timely calls for collateral using internal collateral management system
  • Ensure agreement and transfer of eligible credit support within specified timeframe in accordance to the terms of the CSA
  • Management of collateral inventory (non-cash) positions to ensure sufficient levels to fulfill daily margin requirements,
  • Ensure all collateral booked is processed accurately and in accordance with the CSA terms and other relevant documents
  • Perform portfolio and collateral reconciliations with counterparties
  • Escalate all issues as per agreed terms and standing orders
  • Responding to inquiries on a timely basis
Operational Controls and Reporting
  • Involved in business user testing for enhancements and system integration
  • Operational onboarding of new and/or existing counterparties for applications and services related to the collateral management process
  • Updating of procedure documents as required
  • Ensuring client data is accurately maintained in collateral management system and other documents as required
  • Assist in preparation of margin requirement/funding report and other ad-hoc reports as required
Administrative
  • Respond to audit request
  • Training of staff on new and/or existing processes
  • Provide extended coverage during absence of team members (e.g. vacation)
