Job summary

The City of Powell River is seeking a qualified Manager of Financial Services to lead the Financial Services team and uphold high accounting standards. Reporting to the Senior Manager of Financial Services, you will guide financial operations for a progressive local government.

Requirements include a degree in finance, commerce, business administration or related discipline, a Chartered Professional Accountant designation, five years of progressive accounting and finance experience, and two

Qualifications

• Degree in finance, commerce, business administration or related field.
• Chartered Professional Accountant designation (CPA).
• Five years of progressive accounting and finance experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience.
• Knowledge of general public sector accounting, finance and budgeting practices.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Financial Services team to ensure high quality accounting standards.
• Assist in the preparation of the City’s annual budget.
• Oversee financial and operational reporting.
• Liaise with external auditors.
• Implement best practices and systems to support delivery of City services.
