Job summary

Nutrien invites a motivated student to join our Calgary office for a co-op starting January or May 2027 for an 8 or 12-month term. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position open to current students returning to study after the work term.

You will design data gathering and automation for tax reporting obligations, using Power BI, Power Query, DAX, Excel, SQL, VBA, and Alteryx. You’ll gain ERP exposure and participate in workshops with tax teams.

Qualifications

• Current student enrolled in a co-op program related to accounting, finance, analytics or information systems.
• Interest in tax reporting and automation, with willingness to learn ERP and data warehousing basics.
• Able to work in Calgary and commit to January or May 2027 start for 8 or 12 months.

Responsibilities

An exciting co-op opportunity awaits a motivated student at our Calgary or Saskatoon corporate office beginning January or May 2027 for an approximate 8 or 12-month term. This is a temporary, full-time, hourly-paid position and is open to current students who will be returning to their studies once this work term is complete.

What You'll Do

• Design and implement data gathering, reporting, and automation solutions for informational tax reporting obligations and/or transactional indirect taxes.
• Identify ways to automate manual tasks using technologies and coding languages such as Power BI, Power Query, DAX, Excel, SQL, VBA, and Alteryx.
• You will gain exposure to a variety of Enterprise Resource Planning ("ERP") databases, the S/4 HANA Datawarehouse, and tax reporting tools. It is not necessarily expected for candidates to have previous knowledge of all these tools, languages, or data structures, but they must demonstrate an interest and technical acumen to learn these skills as needed.
• Gather process, data, and integration requirements through workshops with tax team members and other stakeholders to define requirements for solution development and process automation.

What You'll Bring

• Currently enrolled at an accredited post-secondary institution in the co-op program majoring or minoring in accounting, finance, business analytics, information systems, computer science, or operations management/management science.
