The Ontario Energy Board (OEB) is currently seeking an energetic and collaborative individual to join our team as an 8-month term Co-op Student in the Operations department of the Business Operations Optimization and Systems Transformation (BOOST) program team.

BOOST (Business Operations Optimization and Systems Transformation) is a multi-year program designed to implement a new platform for data and workflow management across various OEB processes. BOOST focuses on transforming and optimizing the OEB’s business operations and digital systems to enhance organizational efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment with strategic goals.

Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support digital transformation initiative and optimize infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage project plan, use cases, functional specifications, and performance metrics to monitor progress and identify risks.
  • Support in developing and maintaining project documentation, documenting future-state workflows, and implementation strategies to drive decision-making and execution.
  • Assist in performing stakeholder analysis, tailor communication strategies, and assist in workshops to gather and document business requirements.
  • Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and challenges, supporting business case development and roadmaps.
  • Create dashboards and visualizations to track outcomes and inform decision-making processes.
  • Provide other support to the BOOST program team as needed.
Qualifications
  • Completion of minimum 2nd or 3rd year, or post graduate student of a Business, Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields program registered in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Demonstrated coursework related to Project Management, Business Process Modeling and Optimization, Business Analytics and Data Science, Change Management, and Information Systems and Technology Management is an asset.
  • Good knowledge or internship experience in IT Strategy, Business Transformation, IT Operations, or IT Optimization.
  • Knowledge of and passion for technology and digital trends.
  • Business acumen to align technology solutions with strategic goals.
  • Ability to gather, analyze and compile data, then create visualizations to explain the findings (e.g., graphs and charts).
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
