Job description

Civil Project Coordinator Co-ops with Jacob Bros provide hands-on experience and training required to become a Project Coordinator or Manager in the civil construction industry.

You'll be assigned to work on a project site in the civil construction discipline, including roads and highways, infrastructure, excavation, underground utilities projects, and more. Typical responsibilities include production tracking, scheduling, cost report management, change order preparation, inventory management, estimation, and surveying.

To qualify for this position, you must be currently enrolled in full-time undergraduate studies in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field, and returning to studies after the Co-op.

Responsibilities:

  • Production tracking and preparation of field reports
  • Complete change order preparations
  • Maintain project files and records
  • Attend site meetings and record minutes
  • Process charts, graphs, drawings, and proposals
  • Assist with drawings, estimating, scheduling, and surveying
  • Perform inventory checks and cost analyses
  • Maintain and develop client relationships
  • Additional responsibilities as directed

Qualifications:
  • Must be currently enrolled in post-secondary education in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline
  • Work experience and/or co-op experience with a General Contractor strongly preferred
  • Some experience with project control software applications, including AutoCAD, MS Project, and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong English communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Must be legally eligible to work for any employer in Canada
