Job summary

Famme & Co. is seeking a Co-op Staff Accountant to gain hands-on experience across multiple practice areas in public accounting, with mentorship from seasoned professionals. In-person placement available in Stratford, London, or St. Marys, Ontario.

The program offers competitive pay, mentorship, and training, with a clear path to future opportunities and a collaborative, supportive work environment. You'll contribute to client work while learning essential tax and accounting skills.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program focusing on business or accounting
• Interest in CPA designation is an asset
• Strong problem-solving and ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Ability to work independently and with others

Responsibilities

• Prepare financial statements and accompanying T2 corporate tax returns
• Prepare T4, T5 and T5018 tax slips
• Prepare T1 personal tax returns
• Assist with government subsidy forms (e.g. AgriInvest)
• Develop technical skills in audit, bookkeeping and taxation

About the Position

• Preparation of Financial Statements and accompanying T2 corporate tax returns
• Preparation of T4, T5 and T5018 tax slips
• Preparation of T1 personal tax returns
• Preparation of various tax and government subsidy forms (i.e. AgriInvest)
• Develop technical skills in areas such as audit, assurance, bookkeeping and taxation
• Assist managers in delivering high-quality client service
• Contribute to the development of new ideas and approaches to work processes
• Perform other related duties, as required

About You

• Enrolled in a post-secondary program, with a focus in business, accounting or a related field
• Interest in obtaining the CPA designation is an asset
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to adapt to different challenges, and changing priorities
• Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively with others
• A positive attitude and willingness to learn
