Job summary

OMERS / Oxford Properties Group in Toronto is seeking a driven QA Engineer (Co-op) to join the Products & Technology team. You will support automated test scripts, execute tests, and help identify automation candidates within an agile environment.

The role offers exposure to Selenium/Cypress/Playwright, CI/CD, API testing, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. You’ll gain hands-on experience in test planning, data management, and continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.
• Some exposure to test automation tools such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, or similar frameworks is an asset
• Familiarity with at least one programming language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript)
• Ability to manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines
• Aptitude to think out of the box and have good problem-solving skills
• Good communication skills and ability to share and exchange ideas with your team members and management
• Experience with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI) is an asset
• Knowledge of API testing tools (e.g., Postman, REST Assured) is an asset
• Eagerness to learn and share knowledge in a cross-platform environment
• Interest in coding / computer programming
• Prior experience with coding in JavaScript or Python is a plus but not mandatory
• Must be enrolled in a co-op program at a recognized post-secondary institution

Responsibilities

• Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts
• Execute test cases and document results in a test management tool
• Assist in identifying manual test cases that are good candidates for automation
• Work collaboratively in an agile team with QA Engineers, Developers, and Product Owners
• Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and team discussions
• Help configure and manage test data across testing environments
• Learn and apply Agile testing practices in a real-world setting
• Contribute to test coverage reviews against business requirements and user stories
• Assist with troubleshooting and debugging test failures
