ILAC Education Group in Vancouver seeks a motivated Co-op Job Developer to secure meaningful co-op opportunities for students. You will build employer relationships, identify roles in Digital Marketing, Web Development, and International Business Management, and guide students through placement processes.

The role is placement-focused with compensation tied to successful student placements, requiring strong networking, organization, and bilingual or multilingual capabilities as an asset.

Qualifications

  • 2–5 years of experience in employer engagement, career services, recruitment, sales, business development, co-op/internship coordination, student services, or a related field.
  • Demonstrated experience building relationships with employers, clients, or industry partners.
  • Experience supporting career planning, job searching, recruitment, or employment placement is an asset.
  • Strong networking, communication, and relationship-management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  • Experience with databases, CRM systems, or student information systems is an asset.
  • Strong English communication skills; additional languages are an asset.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to communicate effectively with employers, students, and internal teams.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Availability to attend employer meetings, networking events, career fairs, and off-campus events.

Responsibilities

  • Work directly with students to understand their skills, experience, interests, and career goals.
  • Identify suitable co-op opportunities and actively connect students with potential employers.
  • Match students with positions that align with their academic program.
  • Follow up with students throughout the application and interview process.
  • Proactively identify and contact businesses and organizations that may have co-op hiring needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with employers across Vancouver.
  • Generate new co-op opportunities through cold outreach, networking, referrals, events, LinkedIn, and other channels.
  • Coordinate interviews and facilitate communication between students and employers.
  • Coordinate the placement process from initial employer contact through to successful student placement.
  • Maintain accurate records of students, employers, applications, interviews, and placements.
  • Prepare regular reports on student placement numbers and employer engagement.
  • Ensure placements meet applicable college policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Organize and facilitate career workshops, employer sessions, networking events, and job-search activities.
  • Stay informed about Vancouver's labour market, hiring trends, and industries relevant to our programs.

The Role:

We are looking for a highly motivated, dynamic, and results-oriented Co-op Job Developer to help our students secure meaningful co-op employment opportunities in Vancouver.

This role is ideal for someone who is passionate about student success, career development, networking, and connecting people with employment opportunities. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing relationships with employers, identifying job opportunities, supporting students through the placement process, and successfully matching qualified students with co-op positions.

This is a placement-focused role, with compensation directly tied to successful student outcomes.

Compensation

Compensation will be fee based, for every student successfully placed into a co-op position.
