The Opportunity

Location: Halifax, Nova Scotia

Closing Date: February 14, 2025

The Technical Analyst (Co-op) will support the Transformation Office in driving key initiatives (our “Big Rocks”) aimed at enhancing operational efficiency and fostering innovation within the IT department. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment, working closely with various stakeholders to contribute to the success of transformation initiatives within IT.


Key elements of this role include:

What you’ll do:

  1. Support Transformation Initiatives: Assist in the planning, execution, and monitoring of transformation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and effective execution.
  2. Data Analytics: Contribute to the collection, analysis, and reporting of metrics and KPIs to support decision-making and continuous improvement efforts.
  3. Process Improvement: Help identify areas of waste and inefficiency and participate in the development and implementation of new processes and playbooks.
  4. Documentation: Assist in the documentation of project plans, progress reports, and other relevant materials to ensure clear communication and transparency.
  5. Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with team members, including the Scrum Coach, Product Owners, and other key stakeholders, to gather input and feedback on transformation initiatives.
  6. Agile Practices: Support the adoption and implementation of Agile principles within the Transformation Office.

  1. Currently enrolled in a relevant technical post-secondary program (e.g., Full Stack Application Development, Industrial Engineering, Data Analytics, or Information Technology).
  2. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  3. Curiosity about technology and process improvement.
  4. Interest in how Nova Scotia Power serves our customers.
  5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  6. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  8. Experience with data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI) and process improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean Six Sigma) is an asset.
  9. Experience with Power Automate is an asset.
