Job summary

Nutrien Ag Solutions Limited in Carseland, Alberta, is seeking a chemical engineering co-op student to support process design and capital projects. You will work under a licensed professional engineer and gain hands-on experience in process engineering within an industrial setting.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Chemical Engineering degree, with knowledge of P&ID, piping hydraulics, and pressure relief standards, and with an interest in getting practical exposure to change management and hazard

Qualifications

• Pursuing a chemical engineering degree with co-op term experience preferred.
• Knowledge of P&ID use and interpretation, piping flow hydraulics, and pressure relief valve codes is an asset.
• Experience with API Pressure Relief standards is an asset.
• Knowledge of pipe sizing and piping design is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Assist with process design and documentation to support change control.
• Provide engineering support to process hazard analysis recommendations.
• Support evaluations of catalyst, heat exchanger, and compressor performance.
• Assist capital project development and design through engineering support.
• Perform level-appropriate studies, calculations, or modeling of chemical processes.
• Support automated process monitoring applications.
• Collect data and develop an electronic process information database.
• Work under a licensed professional engineer who will supervise the work products.
• Prepare basic technical reports and analyses related to chemical or process engineering.
• Some field time in operating units and occasional climbing stairs and ladders.
