Job summary

University of Victoria is seeking a Co-op Coordinator to plan, develop, and administer co-op and career programs across departments. You will coordinate intake, preparation, and placement of students with co-op employers and advise students on career development.

The role involves liaising with faculty, students, and employers, promoting programs, and securing placements. Some travel within Victoria and nationally or internationally may be required to expand opportunities.

Qualifications

  • Experience planning, developing, and administering co-op programs.
  • Ability to coordinate intake, preparation, and placement of students.
  • Ability to liaise with academic units, students, and employers.
  • Demonstrated equity, diversity, and inclusion awareness.
  • Ability to travel within Victoria and occasionally across Canada or internationally.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in planning, development, and administration of co-op and career programs.
  • Coordinate academic and administrative aspects of the co-op program.
  • Secure and coordinate placements with co-op employers.
  • Advise, promote, and liaise with students and employers.
  • Travel as required to develop opportunities and support placements.
  • Monitor and evaluate student work terms and assist teaching activities if appropriate.
  • Engage with stakeholders to create inclusive work-integrated learning opportunities.
