Job summary

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Co-op Assistant Coordinator, Risk in Toronto for an eight-month winter 2027 program. You will support project controls with a focus on risk, collaborate across teams, and help maintain risk registers for major civil east division projects in the GTA.

You are pursuing Civil Engineering or Construction Management and bring strong communication and organizational skills, along with proficiency in Word/Excel/PowerPoint. Bilingualism is a plus.

Qualifications

• Currently in a University/Technical College pursuing Civil Engineering or Construction Management.
• Understanding of project management, project controls or cost engineering processes.
• Good communication and organizational skills are essential.
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Advance Excel, Outlook and Power Point.
• Proven track record of good performance and attendance.
• Basic presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to the project controls team with a focus on risk management.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and disseminate risk data.
• Support Risk Director, Project Managers and Analysts with risk analysis and documentation.
• Present findings to the projects team when required.
• Analyze historical project risk information and manage risk registers.
• Assist in benchmarking and provide feedback on risk management accuracy.

We are thrilled to be looking for our next co-op candidate to support our project controls team with a focus on risk. This role will support our major projects within our civil east division in the GTA.

This is an 8 month co-op opportunity starting Winter 2027.

WhatYou'llDo Here:

Provide support to the project team for project control activities with a focus on risk management

Work with various stakeholders to gather and disseminate risk related data

Assist and support Risk Director, Project Managers and Project Controls Analysts with risk analysis, benchmarking and document initiatives

Present findings to the projects team when required

Analyze historical project risk information and manage and maintain risk registers

Work with the different functional groups to provide benchmarking information and feedback on risk management accuracy, and support development as required

Performs other duties and responsibilities as required

What You Bring to the Team:

Currently in a University/Technical College pursuing Civil Engineering or Construction Management

Understanding of project management, project controls or cost engineering processes

Good communication and organizational skills are essential

Experience with Microsoft Word, Advance Excel, Outlook and Power Point

The expected pay range for this role is $23 - $28 per hour

Individual pay is determined based on several factors, including work location, education, experience, unique skills and job conditions. Other considerations may include certifications, specialized training, and the complexity or scope of the role.
