Core Neighborhood Youth Co-op seeks a contracted bookkeeper to manage full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll tasks. You will handle accounts payable/receivable, process payroll, and ensure tax compliance while maintaining accurate financial records for timely reporting.
The role requires QuickBooks proficiency, attention to detail, and ability to coordinate with the Executive Director and external auditors. This is a 1-year contract position based in Saskatoon.
$40.00 hourly (Up to a maximum of $1,100.00 per month, plus GST/PST

General Bookkeeping: Record all financial transactions (sales, donations, grants, invoices, purchases, bill payments, credit card etc.) using QuickBooks. Mange accounts payable/receivable and maintain digital/print record-keeping systems.
Payroll Administration: Process biweekly employee payroll through CAFT, track sick and vacation time, manage new employee setups, and calculate/submit payroll taxes, benefit premiums, and pension contributions.
Year-End & Reporting: Prepare T4s, T4As, ROEs, WCB reports and donation receipts. Complete year-end journal entries and ensure GST, PST, and charity tax returns are filed accurately.
Banking & Reconciliations: Perform monthly reconciliations for all bank accounts and credit cards. Complete bank deposits and fund transfers as required.
Financial Reporting: Generate Budget to Actual reports and Balance Sheets and assist the Executive Director with financial data for budgeting and grant applications/reports.
Audit Support: Coordinate directly with the external auditor to prepare and submit the annual audit package, answer inquiries, and review preliminary statements.
Other: Attend monthly board meetings
Requirements and Qualifications
Experience: Proven experience in full-cycle bookkeeping and payroll.
Software Proficiency: Hands-on experience using QuickBooks computerized accounting software.
Tax Knowledge: Experienced in calculating, filing and remitting payroll taxes and PST returns. Familiar with CRA charity compliance.
Business Structure: Must operate as an Independent Contractor and provide your own tools/workspace.
Reliability: Ability to independently meet biweekly payroll timelines and reporting deadlines
Communication: Excellent professional communication skills to collaborate with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and external auditors.
