Job summary

Johnson Electric Stratford is seeking a CNC Setter Operator for a four-month winter co-op term. The role is on-site in Stratford, Ontario, with a pay range of CAD 22–26.27 per hour plus shift premium.

You will set up CNC machines, load parts, monitor performance, and support lean manufacturing initiatives in a fast-paced automotive environment. Ideal candidates are enrolled in a CNC Machining or related program, with basic knowledge of CNC controls and programming, and strong math and teamwork

Qualifications

• Enrolled in CNC Machining or related Manufacturing program.
• Basic knowledge of machining principles, CNC equipment, and manufacturing processes.
• Understanding of CNC controls and programming fundamentals.
• Strong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team; strong communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Set up CNC machines and install/remove tooling, chucks, collets, and adapters as required.
• Load and unload parts while maintaining production targets and quality standards.
• Monitor machine performance, make size adjustments, and index cutting inserts as required.
• Collect and chart SPC data according to process specifications.
• Follow all EH&S, Quality, and operational procedures; support 5S and continuous improvement.
