Job summary

Dawn Staffing Solutions Inc is seeking an experienced CNC Programmer to join our manufacturing team near Tecumseh, ON. The role focuses on developing and optimizing programs for HEIDENHEIN controls and ensuring parts meet tight tolerances.

You will read blueprints, set up milling operations, and collaborate with engineering and production to improve cycle times. The position offers a competitive hourly rate and regular OT in a 3-shift rotation.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in machining/manufacturing technology or equivalent.
• 3–7+ years of CNC programming experience, preferably with HEIDENHEIN controls.
• Strong ability to read blueprints and GD&T for milling processes.

Responsibilities

• Develop, write and optimize CNC programs using HEIDENHEIN controls.
• Interpret engineering drawings and CAD models to determine machining requirements.
• Set up and operate CNC mills for testing and validation.
• Select tools and fixtures for efficient production and quality.
• Perform first-off inspections and adjust programs to meet specs.
• Troubleshoot machine issues including tool wear and offsets.
• Collaborate with engineering/production to improve cycle times.
• Document programs, tooling and setup instructions.
• Ensure safety compliance and support continuous improvement.

We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with strong expertise in HEIDENHEIN controls to join our manufacturing team near Tecumseh, ON.

Pay - $36/hour

Shift - 3 Shift Rotational +OT

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, write, and optimize CNC programs using HEIDENHEIN controls (e.g., TNC 530, TNC 640)
• Interpret and analyze blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to determine machining requirements
• Set up and operate CNC milling machines as needed for testing and validation
• Select appropriate cutting tools, fixtures, and machining strategies for efficient production
• Perform first-off inspections and make necessary program adjustments to meet quality standards
• Troubleshoot machining issues, including tool wear, offsets, and program errors
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams to improve cycle times and processes
• Maintain accurate documentation of programs, tooling, and setup instructions
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within the machining department

Qualifications

• Diploma or certification in Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field
• 3–7+ years of CNC programming experience, preferably with HEIDENHEIN controls
• Strong knowledge of CNC milling processes (3-axis / 4-axis / 5-axis preferred)
• Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and GD&T
• Experience with CAD/CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM, or similar)
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Good communication and teamwork abilities
