Job summary

Three H, a leading furniture manufacturer, seeks a CNC Programmer to create and maintain machine programs for boring and routing equipment on the shop floor. Qualifications

• 2+ years of CNC programming experience in panel processing, furniture, millwork or true cabinetry.
• Experience with CNC programming software (e.g., BiesseWorks, Homag woodWOP, SCM Maestro).
• Knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/3D modelling software; SWOOD or AutoCAD is a plus.
• College diploma/certificate in CNC/machining is an asset but not required.

The Opportunity

As a CNCProgrammer, you create, maintain, and support the machine programs that turnpanel stock into furniture components on our CNC boring and routing equipment.This role is the link between product data and the production floor: programsneed to be accurate, ready on time, and clear enough that operators can runthem right the first time.

Workingclosely with the Senior CNC Programmer, Machining, Product Support, and ProductDevelopment, you’ll handle standard and custom programming, support operatorswith setups and troubleshooting, and keep the program library organized,current, and backed up.

It'sa role for someone who is equally comfortable reading a drawing and standingbeside an operator at the machine, and who knows that a good program is onethat runs right the first time.

What You’ll Do

CNCProgramming & Program Management

• Create and edit CNC programs from drawings, 3Dmodels, and product data for point-to-point boring and routing machines.
• Build and maintain automated programs forstandard products that generate from product codes, using our product datastandards.
• Modify standard programs for customer specialsand provide operators with clear instructions for those components.
• Update programs and macros to reflect machinehardware or software updates, tooling changes, and new features.
• Save programs and macros to the designatedbacked-up server location, following file naming and revision practices.
• Register programs in the database with accuratemachine run times for scheduling and costing.

ProductionSupport

• Prioritize corrections to programs already inproduction to keep the floor running.
• Complete lot reviews so special machiningrequirements reach production through labels and machine notes.
• Perform test runs and first-piece checks on newor changed programs; troubleshoot and adjust until parts meet specification.
• Set up and operate CNC equipment as needed toprove out programs and support operators.
• Work with the Machining Supervisor and operatorsto resolve program-related production issues quickly.

Specials& New Product Support

• Provide manufacturability input to ProductSupport and Product Development on custom products and new lines.
• Support the transition of engineering andprogramming workflows to SolidWorks / SWOOD.

Training& Knowledge Sharing

• Show CNC operators how to run new or complexprograms and what to watch for.
• Support onboarding of new programmers andoperators under the direction of the Senior CNC Programmer.
• Keep skills current as machines, software, andprocesses change.
• Perform other related duties as required.

What You’ll Bring

• 2+ years of CNC programming experience, ideallyin panel processing, furniture, millwork, or cabinetry, or an equivalentcombination of education and experience.
• Experience with CNC programming software (e.g., BiesseWorks, Homag woodWOP, SCM Maestro).
• Working knowledge of SolidWorks or other CAD/3Dmodelling software. SWOOD or AutoCAD experience is an asset.
• College diploma or certificate in CNC/machining,mechanical technology, or woodworking / cabinetmaking technology is consideredan asset, but not required.
• Knowledge of furniture construction and hardware(drawer slides, hinges, RTA fittings, locks) is an asset.

Also Valuable

• Reads and interprets technical drawings,tolerances, and 3D models accurately.
• Comfortable with shop math: measurement,geometry, coordinates, and metric/imperial conversion.
• Understands tooling, feeds and speeds, and howpanel materials (particleboard, MDF, laminates) behave when machined.
• Detail-oriented. Checks work before it goes tothe floor.
• Communicates clearly and respectfully withoperators, supervisors, and engineering, including on a noisy production floor.
• Comfortable with computers, ERP systems, andorganized file management.
• Works well independently and as part of a teamand can manage competing priorities.
• Willing to learn and adapt to new machines,software, and processes.

Health & Safety

• Work in accordance with the Occupational Healthand Safety Act, O. Reg. 851 (Industrial Establishments), and Three H health andsafety policies and procedures.
• Report all hazards, incidents, near misses, andinjuries to your supervisor right away.
• Wear required personal protective equipment,including hearing and eye protection on the production floor.
• Follow lockout and machine guarding procedureswhen setting up, testing, or troubleshooting equipment.
• Write and test programs with operator safety inmind.
• Follow WHMIS requirements and take part inhealth and safety training.
• Support the Joint Health and Safety Committeeand keep work areas clean and safe.
• Time is split between a typical office settingand the production floor.
• Exposure to noise, wood dust, and seasonaltemperature changes when on production floor.
• Extended periods of sitting at a computer, plusstanding and walking on the production floor.
• Occasional pushing, pulling, and lifting ofpanels and tooling up to 60 lbs.
