Job summary

Coordinate Industries Ltd in Oakville, Ontario, seeks a skilled CNC programmer to produce complex parts and fixtures for 3- and 5-axis machines using Mastercam. You will read drawings and CAD files, communicate with setup operators, engineering and quality teams to solve problems.

The role requires programming experience with Mastercam, GD&T proficiency, fixture design and detailed process documentation. You will also coach others and support continuous improvement in a high-precision shop.

Qualifications

• College diploma or engineering degree in related field.
• General Machinist C of Q and/or C of A preferred.
• Minimum 5 years in a precision machining environment.
• Minimum 5 years programming precision components using Mastercam.
• Experience with Vericut is an asset.
• Reading and interpreting engineering drawings.
• GD&T proficiency.

Responsibilities

• Follow AS 9100 quality management system policies and procedures.
• Determine machining and work holding strategies.
• Complete all set-up documentation for each job.
• Design and program fixtures to produce parts.
• Build 3D models for parts when not provided by the customer.
• Provide shop floor support during set-up and first-off process.
• Maintain continuous process improvement to reduce cost and increase throughput.
• Keep work area clean, follow health and safety rules.
• Produce detailed manufacturing process plans.
• Verify programs using Mastercam and Vericut.
• Coach team members and provide training to other programmers.
• Recommend design changes to improve machinability.

Job description

This CNC programmer is able to program complex parts and fixtures for 3 and 5 axis machines using Mastercam. They will be required to complete all set-up documentation. Can read and interpret drawings and CAD files and is expected to communicate closely with set-up operators as well as engineering and quality teams in a problem-solving capacity.

1-Experience, Education and Skill Requirements

• College diploma or engineering degree in related field
• General Machinist C of Q and or C of A (Preferred)
• Minimum 5 years in a precision machining environment
• Minimum 5 years programming precision components using Mastercam software
• Experience with vericut is an asset
• Demonstrates experience in reading and interpreting engineering drawings
• Demonstrates experience in Geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Demonstrates experience in developing work-holding strategies and fixture design
• Is able to perform accurate process planning
• Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
• Works effectively with little supervision
