Job summary

Russel Metals in Surrey, BC is hiring two BurningOperator specialists to operate a crane and a Hi-Definition Plasma machine, perform setup and preventive maintenance, and support production schedules.

Candidates should be able to read blueprints, participate in CNC programming, and handle quality inspections; willingness to work graveyard or rotating shifts is required; a safety sensitive environment includes pre-employment medical and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Packaging material to customer specifications.
• Advanced problem solving abilities.
• Self motivated, results oriented.
• Must be willing to work shift work (mornings, afternoons, graveyards).
• Previous experience operating forklifts and/or overhead cranes is an asset.
• Previous experience working with manual beveling tools and portable flame cutting systems is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Operation of Crane and Hi-Definition Plasma Machine
• Responsible for all set up and preventative maintenance
• Knowledge of computer programming
• Process planning and CNC programming for machinery
• Responsible for meeting daily production and on time requirements
• Ability to read blueprints and conduct quality inspections
• Ability to meet specific tasks at hand
