Job description

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the CNC Operator is responsible for operating CNC machines safely and efficiently, ensuring accurate finishing of products to reduce non-compliance pieces. The role involves working collaboratively with the Supervisor and team members to complete and ship orders on time.

What You’ll Do

• Interpret production orders, including part descriptions, material grades, documents, and drawings.
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to operate CNC machines responsibly and efficiently. Update and sign off on production orders as required.
• Understand the sequence of operations for each production order.
• Program CNC machines according to customer specifications and carry out work instructions.
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, making program adjustments during production as needed. Use measuring tools and gauges.
• Manufacture both routine and complex parts from raw materials.
• Safely maneuver raw materials and finished products using overhead cranes and pallet jacks, reporting concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
• Complete work orders within deadlines, planning and prioritizing tasks, and collaborating with the Supervisor to resolve issues.
• Maintain the CNC area and equipment daily, reporting any concerns to the Supervisor and Maintenance.
• Document product work, routing completed products and documentation appropriately.
• Record time, switch codes, scan router operations, and enter product quantities.

What You Bring

• At least 2 years of machining experience.
• High school diploma.
• CNC Machinist/Operator certification is an asset.
• Knowledge of part fixturing and work holding preferred.
• Understanding of products/services related to the oil and gas industry.
• Knowledge of safe work practices, Quality Assurance, and Continuous Improvement principles.

Where You’ll Work

• Shop floor environment with extended standing and product handling.
• Wearing personal protective equipment at all times.
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. regularly without mechanical aid.
