We are seeking an experienced CNC Machinist with strong technical machining knowledge and practical experience in horizontal boring, CNC milling, and precision machining operations.

The successful candidate will work with large industrial components, complex fabricated assemblies, and specialized machining equipment requiring accuracy, technical judgment, and safe machining practices.

Duties
  • Set up, operate, and adjust CNC machining equipment, including horizontal boring machines, CNC milling machines, and other precision metalworking equipment.
  • Perform horizontal boring, milling, drilling, tapping, facing, and related machining operations on large industrial components and fabricated metal assemblies.
  • Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, technical specifications, machining instructions, and dimensional tolerances.
  • Develop, interpret, modify, and optimize CNC machining programs using appropriate machine controls and CNC programming software.
  • Determine machining sequences, tooling requirements, cutting speeds, feed rates, and machining methods based on material specifications and production requirements.
  • Set up and align large workpieces, fixtures, tooling, and machine components to ensure proper positioning and machining accuracy.
  • Perform precision boring and machining operations on large metal components requiring accurate hole alignment, dimensional control, and surface finishes.
  • Use precision measuring instruments, including micrometers, vernier calipers, dial indicators, bore gauges, and other inspection equipment to verify dimensional accuracy.
  • Monitor machining operations and make necessary adjustments to maintain specified tolerances, quality standards, and production efficiency.
  • Inspect finished components for dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and compliance with engineering specifications.
  • Identify and troubleshoot machining problems involving tooling, machine setup, alignment, cutting conditions, and CNC programming.
  • Perform routine machine inspections, basic preventive maintenance, and adjustments to maintain safe and efficient equipment operation.
  • Collaborate with engineers, supervisors, fabricators, and other machinists to plan machining procedures and resolve technical production issues.
  • Maintain accurate machining records, inspection results, and production documentation.
  • Follow workplace safety procedures, equipment operating instructions, and established quality control standards.
  • Support the training and technical development of apprentices and junior machinists by sharing machining knowledge and safe operating practices.
