Job summary

Valiant TMS in Windsor, Ontario, is seeking a skilled CNC Machinist for a steady afternoon position. You will set up, operate, and maintain a boring mill, reading drawings, and ensuring parts meet specifications with attention to safety and efficiency.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of experience with Fanuc controls and holds a high school diploma or equivalent; apprentice certification is a bonus. We offer strong benefits, tuition reimbursement, and opportunities for growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of machining experience using a Fanuc controller.
• Completed high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completed apprentice program and certification in the trade would be a bonus.
• Experience and training in the use of cranes, slings, and hoists.
• Experience with Heidenheim Controller.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and maintain the boring mill to ensure accurate and efficient production.
• Study drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and machining sequence.
• Verify conformance using scales, calipers, micrometers, Vernier, and fixed gauges.
• Interpret controller capabilities and program parameters for loading and running programs.
• Input modifications to machining programs as instructed by CAM department.
• Ensure assigned functions can be completed on specific machines.
• Machine both custom and production steel fabricated parts.

Valiant TMS, a global manufacturing leader, is looking for a skilled, reliable and safety-conscious CNC Machinist to join our Valco Manufacturing team! As a CNC Machinist, you will be responsible for ensuring that all products you machine meet the precise specifications of our customers while maintaining a focus on safety and efficiency. What You’ll Get To Do

• Set up, operate, and maintain the boring mill to ensure accurate and efficient production.
• Study drawings and specifications to determine dimensions, tolerances, and the sequence of machining operations using knowledge of shop mathematics, metal properties, and the methodology and procedures of machining.
• Verify conformance of the detail to specifications by using measuring instruments such as scales, calipers, micrometres, Vernier, and fixed gauges.
• Recognize the functions of the specific controller capabilities program parameters to load, evaluate and run a specific program.
• Input additions, deletions and changes to the machining program as instructed by the CAM department.
• Decide and ensure assigned functions can be completed on specific machines.
• Machine both custom and production steel fabricated parts.

What We’re Looking For

• Experience: Minimum 1 year of proven experience in machining using a Fanuc controller.
• Qualifications:
  • Completed high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completed apprentice program and certification in the trade would be a bonus.
  • Experience and training in the use of cranes, slings, and hoists.
  • Experience with Heidenheim Controller
• Skills: Ability to read and understand blueprints with attention to detail and basic understanding of GD&T.
• Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada.

The expected compensation for this position is $24.00 - $34.00 per hour. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location.
