Job summary

Leesta, recently part of Pursuit Aerospace, seeks a CNC Machinist to operate and set up lathe machines, read instructions, and verify parts meet specifications. You will load programs, fixtures, and tooling, perform first-off checks, and troubleshoot during production.

The ideal candidate holds a technical CNC diploma with 3-5 years of experience and is fluent in French and English. Evening or night shifts are available with a premium; dayshift training may be required.

  • 3-5 years hands-on CNC machining experience.
  • Fluency in French and English; able to read technical English instructions.

Responsibilities

  • Read drawings and process sheets; perform first-off checks.
  • Monitor machining processes and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Verify part conformance with measuring tools; maintain clean workspace.

Job description

At Leesta, recently acquired by Pursuit Aerospace, we manufacture precision aerospace components for some of the world's leading aircraft engine and aerospace manufacturers.

We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented individual to join our team under the supervision of our production manager. As a CNC Machinist, you'll play a pivotal role in executing complex machining operations using lathe machines.

Responsibilities:
  • Operate and set up CNC machines according to approved programs and work instructions;
  • Load program into the CNC machine and verify proper machine set-up;
  • Load and unload parts, fixtures, and tooling as per set-up sheets;
  • Read and interpret work instructions from technical drawings, manufacturing process sheets, etc.;
  • Perform first-off machining, ensuring parts meet specifications;
  • Monitor machining processes and perform troubleshooting and adjustments within skill level;
  • Verify conformity of parts using instruments such as micrometers, vernier calipers, etc.;
  • Maintain the work area to the company's standards.
Job qualifications:
  • Technical diploma in CNC machining or equivalent training and experience;
  • Demonstrate between 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a similar role;
  • Bilingual proficiency in both French and English, with advanced ability to read and interpret English work instructions;
  • Strong understanding of CNC operations, G-code, and M-code;
  • Availability to work for evening or night shift:
    • Eveningshift (3:15 PM - 11:15 PM)—with a $2 premium- Lathe machining
    • Flexibility to attend initial training on thedayshift (7:15am-3:15pm).
