Argus Machine Co. in Edmonton is hiring two CNC Machinists for day and night shifts. You will operate lathes and mills to manufacture parts to specification, read drawings, set up programs, and ensure quality.

Qualified journeyman machinists with Mazak experience and MAZATROL Fusion preferred, strong attention to detail, and ability to work under Lean Manufacturing principles. We offer competitive hourly rates, benefits, and a team-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Journeyman Machinist ticket required.
• Experience with MAZATROL Fusion and 640T controllers preferred.
• Mazak programming experience is an asset.
• Multi-Axis machine experience is an asset.
• General knowledge of oil and gas industry products and services.
• Strong safety, QA and Lean Manufacturing understanding.

Responsibilities

• Interpret production orders, read drawings and blueprints.
• Program, set up, operate and monitor CNC machines.
• Plan, prioritize workload and complete work orders on time.
• Maintain CNC area and document work performed.
• Use measuring tools and controls; operate overhead cranes safely.

Argus is hiring two C NC Machinists for day and night shifts. Day shift is Monday - Friday, 7:15AM-4:00PM, and night shift is Monday - Thursday, from 4:00PM-2:00AM.

Reporting to the Plant Supervisor, the CNC Machinist will operate both a lathe and a mill to efficiently manufacture parts to specification.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Interpret production order information, including part descriptions, material grade, documents, and drawings.
• Read and interpret drawings and blueprints to operate CNC machines in a responsible, diligent, and efficient manner. Update and sign off on production orders as required.
• Understand the sequence of operations for a production order.
• Carry out work order instructions to program CNC machines to customer specifications.
• Set up, operate, and monitor CNC machines, fixing programs during production runs as required. Use measuring tools, gauges, and controls as required.
• Manufacture routine, complex, and non-routine parts from raw materials.
• Use overhead cranes and pallet jacks to safely maneuver raw material/ finished product within the manufacturing plant. Handle materials and equipment with care to prevent damage to raw materials during machining. Report any concerns to the Plant Supervisor.
• Complete work orders within deadlines, utilizing appropriate resources for each job. Plan and prioritize workload, adjusting for problems and working with the Plant Supervisor to address them.
• Maintain the CNC Machine area and equipment daily. Report any concerns to the Plant Supervisor and Maintenance.
• Complete product documentation for work carried out. Route the product and related documentation to the appropriate location once completed.

About You

To qualify, you will need the following:

• Journeyman Machinist ticket required.
• Experience with MAZATROL Fusion, 640T controllers preferred.
• Mazak programming experience considered an asset.
• Multi-Axis machine experience considered an asset.
• General knowledge of products and services in relation to the oil and gas industry.
• General understanding of safe work practices, Quality Assurance requirements, and Continuous Improvement (Lean Manufacturing) principles.
