Job summary

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) invites applications for Casual Learning Support Workers to assist students in Vanderhoof and Mapes. This casual role has no guaranteed hours.

The successful candidate will work with school and district staff to support individual student needs, help deliver regular or alternate programs, and advocate for students within school-based teams as needed. CRRP criminal record checks required.

Qualifications

  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate).
  • Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience with children/youth with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required).
  • WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.

Job description

Position Summary:

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking applications for Casual Learning Support Workers to support students in the Vanderhoof area, including Mapes. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.

The successful candidate will:

  • Work with school and district staff to support the individual needs of students
  • Assist in the delivery of regular or alternate education programs for individuals or groups
  • Advocate for students and participate in school-based teams as needed
Qualifications:
  • Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
  • Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program

Note: Applicants without the required certification will be considered Uncertified and compensated at the corresponding rate. Should you not have the required qualifications, you will be paid at the Uncertified Learning Support Worker rate ($26.72).

The successful applicant must complete aCriminal Record Check through theCriminal Records Review Program (CRRP) . Criminal Record Checks Checks through local RCMP detachments will not be accepted. To expedite this process, we recommend setting up aBC Services Card Account in advance (BC Services Card).
