Job summary

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) in Fraser Lake invites applications for Casual Learning Support Workers to assist students with diverse needs in the local schools.

This casual role has no guaranteed hours and offers opportunities to collaborate with teachers and support staff in daily educational activities. Qualifications include Grade 12 with a Dogwood certificate, Education Assistant Certificate, at least 6 months of relevant experience with youth with disabilities, a valid BC Class 5

• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.

• Criminal Records Check (CRRP) required prior to start.

Job description

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking applications for Casual Learning Support Workers to support students in the Fraser Lake area. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.

The successful candidate will:

• Work with school and district staff to support the individual needs of students
• Assist in the delivery of regular or alternate education programs for individuals or groups
• Advocate for students and participate in school-based teams as needed

Qualifications:

• Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate)
• Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children/youth with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required)
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures

Note: Applicants without the required certification will be considered Uncertified and compensated at the corresponding rate. Should you not have the required qualifications, you will be paid at the Uncertified Learning Support Worker rate ($26.72).

The successful applicant must complete aCriminal Record Check through theCriminal Records Review Program (CRRP). Criminal Record Checks Checks through local RCMP detachments will not be accepted.
