Job summary

School District No. 91 (Nechako Lakes) is seeking applications for Casual Learning Support Workers to support students in the Fort St. James area. This is a casual position with no guaranteed hours.

The successful candidate will support students with diverse needs, collaborate with school staff, and participate in team-based planning. Applicants must meet the listed qualifications and complete a Criminal Record Check and BC Services Card steps as part of the process.

Qualifications

• Completion of Grade 12 (Dogwood Certificate).
• Completion of an Education Assistant Certificate program.
• Minimum of 6 months of experience working with children/youth with intellectual, behavioral, or multiple disabilities.
• Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s License with a clean driving record (driver’s abstract required).
• WHMIS 2015 Certificate and familiarity with WorkSafeBC safety procedures.

Note: Applicants without the required certification will be considered Uncertified and compensated at the corresponding rate. Should you not have the required qualifications, you will be paid at the Uncertified Learning Support Worker rate ($26.72).

The successful applicant must complete a Criminal Record Check through the Criminal Records Review Program (CRRP). Criminal Record Checks through local RCMP detachments will not be accepted. To expedite this process, we recommend setting up a BC Services Card Account in advance (BC Services Card).
