Empire Life in Canada is seeking a Cloud Systems Administrator to join our Technical Infrastructure team. You will design, deploy, and manage hybrid cloud environments spanning on‑premise, Azure, and Google Cloud Platform, driving automation and scalable operations.

You’ll work with IaC (Terraform), configuration management (Ansible), and PaC tools to enforce governance and security. The role includes on‑call rotation and providing Tier 2 support for cloud incidents, with a focus on governance

Qualifications

• 3+ years in an enterprise systems environment with cloud operations and automation.
• Extensive experience with Microsoft Azure and Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Proficient in Terraform and Ansible for IaC and automation.
• In-depth knowledge of Linux (RHEL/Ubuntu) and Windows Server environments.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure components across Azure and Google Cloud Platform.
• Develop and maintain modular Terraform scripts for global cloud resources.
• Automate software deployment and configuration with Ansible across multi-cloud environments.
• Develop and enforce governance policies (PaC) using Terraform Sentinel, OPA/Rego, or Azure Policy.
• Implement and enforce security policies for Azure and GCP environments.
• Integrate policy scanning into CI/CD pipelines to catch vulnerabilities early.
• Monitor multi-cloud performance and optimize resource utilization.
• Provide Tier 2 technical support and participate in on-call rotation.
