We are currently seeking competent individuals to fulfill the role of Cloud Software Engineer and join our dynamic team for a client, one of the major banks.
Contract duration: 6 months with possibility of extension. Role type: Hybrid (2‑3 days a week in office required – Downtown Toronto).
Key Responsibilities
- Build and manage cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices, primarily with AWS
- Develop, maintain, and optimize ETL pipelines to ingest, transform, and deliver data across operational and analytical syst
- Leverage AWS services such as Lambda, ECS Fargate, Athena, and related technologies to support scalable application and data soluti
- Design and maintain data storage and analytics platforms using PostgreSQL and modern table formats such as Apache Iceb
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective technical soluti
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and enhance system performance, reliability, security, and cost efficiency within AWS environme
- Participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and continuous improvement of engineering practices and standa
Required Qualifications
- Strong understanding of AWS cloud services and cloud-native application design principles
- Hands‑on experience implementing Infrastructure as Code using AWS
- Experience designing, building, or supporting ETL workflows and data pipelines
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL, Amazon Athena, AWS Lambda, ECS Fargate, and Apache Iceberg
- Understanding of distributed systems, API design, data modeling, and application integration patterns
- Experience with source control systems, automated testing frameworks, and CI/CD pipelines
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, communication, and collaboration skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building event‑driven or data‑intensive applications on AWS
- Familiarity with data lake, lakehouse, and modern analytics architectures
- Knowledge of cloud security, observability, governance, and cost optimization best practices
- Experience with Amazon Bedrock AgentCore
- Familiarity with LangChain and LangGraph for AI application and agent orchestration
- Experience working within Agile development teams and participating in technical design and architecture discussions
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience
